Role Summary:

Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Strategy and Business Development, the Sr. Dir, Corporate Strategy, will be responsible for leading the enterprise level corporate strategy at Cerevel. Through the effective leadership of this function this role will be integral in the development and implementation of the defined corporate strategy that will enable optimal value creation for Cerevel. Working with the SVP, Corporate Strategy and Business Development, this individual will be accountable for defining the best path to maximize the value of Cerevel. The Sr. Director will be responsible for assembling the data, gathering cross-functional input, informing our portfolio strategy, and synthesizing external market dynamics to effectively develop and implement the corporate strategy. The position will work closely with the executive team and cross-functional leaders to execute on company strategies.

Key Responsibilities

    Develop Cerevel enterprise-level strategy by defining key initiatives and leading the team to identify critical questions facing the business, form a robust approach to defining and weighing alternatives, and lead broad implementation of chosen plans through cross-functional channels
    Work with Cerevel senior leaders to see new opportunities and/or options as it relates to positioning, model of value creation, operating excellence, and risk/reward management
    Through partnership with all internal functions, ensures chosen strategic paths are being driven to results
    Ensures that Cerevel corporate strategy is fully informed by challenges and opportunities in the external environment
    Through close partnership with Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations, ensures that Cerevel corporate strategy is being effectively communicated internally and with external stakeholders

Required Qualifications

    Extensive background and experience in life science/drug development management
    Ability to combine science, market insights, and competitive intelligence into compelling, value-creating strategies
    Robust drug development experience and understand the life cycle of a compound to realize maximum value in creating corporate strategies
    Extensive experience in forming complex corporate strategies and leading implementations
    Ability to distill complex analysis/data into understandable and actionable insights
    Proven ability to explore and define the potential within emerging and/or unfamiliar business areas and operating models
    Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and be successful influencing senior leaders

Desired Qualifications

    Commercial or financial background and understanding
    Knowledge in neuro-science/indications

Education

    Bachelors degree required, advanced scientific and/or business degree preferred
