About the Senior Electrochemical Engineer position

We seek an innovative Electrochemical Engineer with expertise in the development and testing of novel electrochemical systems. The successful candidate will be able to design, develop, and test electrochemical/mechanical systems starting from a first principles theoretical perspective all the way to practical implementation. Candidates will also take a significant role in expanding testing capabilities and assist in other related research and development projects. They must be comfortable both working independently and part of a larger research and development team. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation for climate solutions and be a part of creating and launching cutting edge technology. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Research. We offer competitive salary and benefits plus a notable equity package.

Responsibilities

· Designing and executing test plans on fluid/thermal and electrochemical systems, subsystems, and components to address performance, reliability, and robustness

· Adapting performance data into physics based mathematical models

· Optimizing system architecture from test data and model simulation

· Designing and building test rigs and data acquisition systems to evaluate performance and reliability of various fluid/thermal/electrochemical components and systems

· Analyzing test data to understand expected and unexpected results

· Troubleshooting complex systems consisting of electrical, air, water, and salt systems

Qualifications

· Graduate degree (PhD or MS) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry or another related field

· Experience in the development of innovative electrochemical technologies such as electrodialysis, flow batteries, fuel cells, or electrolysis

· Experience in electrochemical testing with potentiostats, impedance spectroscopy analyzers, data acquisition systems, as well as various forms of temperature, pressure, and flow measurement

· Experience in mathematical modeling of electrochemical and mechanical systems

· Strong fundamental understanding of electrochemistry and engineering principles

· Proficiency in Labivew, Matlab, and/or Python preferred

· Track record of innovation and scientific achievement

Pay: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
