General Function of the Senior Facilities & Grounds Technician Position:

Persons employed in this position are responsible for, but not limited to, assisting the Facilities Operations Manager in maintaining the interior and exterior of company buildings and grounds along with all aspects of cleaning the building and equipment and overseeing the nightly crew.

Senior Facilities & Grounds Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

• 
  Assist the Facilities Operations Manager as requested in repairs and general upkeep and checks of buildings, equipment, pool vehicles and grounds.
• Assist the Facilities Operations Manager in responding to contractor/vendor needs.
• Serve as the backup responder to equipment alarms.
• Responsible for seasonal outside duties including mowing grass, raking leaves, and snow and ice removal.
• Visually inspect fire extinguishers monthly to ensure that they are mounted in the assigned locations are visible, accessible, and show no signs of damage.
• Perform light maintenance tasks as needed.
• Assist the Facilities Operations Manager in the supervision and training of night crew and shift assignments.
• Approve timecards and PTO when the Facilities Operations Manager is unavailable.
• Run errands and pick up parts as required.
• Assist in the inventory and procurement of supplies including preparation of Purchase Requests.
• Assist in the verification and submission of invoices assigned to the Facilities area.
• Perform daily custodial tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, emptying wastebaskets, cleaning restrooms, and assisting custodial helpers as needed.
• Regular and timely attendance in the office is an essential function of the job including game day Saturdays and special events hosted by Farmers Mutual.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities set forth above, the employee occasionally may be asked to assist in other duties throughout the company on an as-needed basis. At no time will any employee be required to perform any duties, which he or she is not mentally or physically capable of performing.

Senior Facilities & Grounds Technician Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent plus 12 months previous experience in light maintenance work.
• Must be able to perform and/or assist with carpentry, light plumbing and electrical, painting, and janitorial.
• Must be available to work overtime hours, including some weekends, and day shifts as needed when the Facilities Operations Manager is out of the office.
• Must be self-motivated, a problem solver, and able to work without close supervision.
• Must have strong communication and documentation skills.
• Mechanical aptitude is necessary.
• Must be flexible in responding to contractor/company needs.
• Able to use industrial soaps and cleaning products.
• Ability to lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds required.
• Must be able to tolerate prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and working in inclement weather.
• Valid driver’s license is required for this position.
