We are currently hiring a Senior Health Data and Interoperability Engineer to support our customer located in Washington, DC (Fully Remote). Please review the requirements below and if you would like to be considered, we encourage you to apply!

Position overview -

Supporting our customer in Washington, DC the selected candidate will:

  • Conduct reviews of system engineering designs, architecture, and integration patterns for current/future state planning to ensure in compliance with Federal and Departmental regulations and standards to achieve EHRM-IO’s mission.
  • Collaborate with system integrator and provide expertise to ensure the data and interoperability solutions, to include data migration/syndication, identity and access management, external data exchange platforms and analytics/reporting solution designs and development efforts meet requirements.
  • Facilitate technical meetings with customer, stakeholders, and vendors, write executive-level technical summaries and deliver presentations in support of Data and Interoperability projects for enterprise and Joint DOD planning and implementation needs for EHRM-IO ODCIO.
  • Coordinate across platforms to proper coordination and planning of jointly managed technical integrations
  • Evaluate alternative components for and makes recommendations about the Data and Interoperability solution architecture
  • Research solution architecture, technical design tools, and technology stack for data exchange infrastructure, develop data exchange strategy and architecture that encompasses patient identity, data standards, applications, infrastructure, and services, and conduct gap analysis of infrastructure and architecture
  • Be able to comprehend and integrate technical, management, and policy issues into client solutions and lead small working groups
  • Have experience with systems engineering technical principles, including requirements development and functional analysis
  • Provide technical feedback to program plans and schedules to ensure that timelines, risks, and design have the appropriate level of detail, validity and abide by commercial best practices
  • Assess and make recommendations for mitigating technical risks and issues
  • Have experience with presenting technical solutions to senior-level executives
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of professional work experience
  • Be able to create strategies and plans for integration of multiple IT systems/subsystems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained
  • Able to coordinate with development and user teams to assess risks, goals and needs and ensure that all are adequately addressed
  • Experienced in introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks.
  • Able to be cost conscience as well addressing goals
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent, or an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Experience with VA and DoD legacy health data, inter-agency/private sector health data sharing/exchange, patient identity/matching requirements for health data exchange
  • Experience managing core technical aspects of IT related projects
  • Experience with large scale, enterprise systems integration/interface, data migration, cloud computing and site EHR cut-over/deployments
  • Experience with scalability analysis and modeling
  • Experience with system (end-to-end) performance assessment and optimization

Must be fully vaccinated with the COVID vaccine.

Employment Type: Full Time / Permanent

Working Conditions:

Business work hours are from Monday through Friday, (day shift) 40-hour week. This role is fully remote.

Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
