Position: Senior Lease Analyst

Job Description:

The Senior Lease Analyst will support the overall lease accounting process including maintenance within the lease accounting system (Manage Path), the month-end financial close and financial reporting process, and providing the point of contact for lease-related inquiries.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

• Review new and amended lease agreements in detail
• Enter and validate all related data within the lease accounting system, and generate ASC 842 schedules
• Communicate with Procurement and Real Estate teams to confirm lease details and obtain agreements, as necessary
• Perform monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting process, including journal entries related to lease expenses, accruals, and quarterly balance sheet adjustments, and management reporting
• Perform pre-close analysis and post-close reconciliation on the lease portfolio
• Coordinate with business partners to obtain fair value, discount rates, and other data necessary to perform new lease classification testing
• Send out and review responses to the Quarterly Lease Surveys for completeness and accuracy of the lease population and analyze contracts for embedded leases
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly disclosures as required by the company, its external auditors, the SEC, and other regulatory authorities
• Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation, and providing recommendations as appropriate
• Evaluate and resolve general account, billing, and other lease or financial-related questions
• Track and maintain critical lease and notice dates
• Review annual CAM and Tax reconciliations
• Evaluate estoppel requests
• Create, establish, and implement standard policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance/similar discipline
• 3-5 years prior accounting or finance experience
• Experience and understanding of new lease accounting standards and requirements (preferably ASC 842)
• Advanced understanding of lease language and terms with the ability to abstract lease documents with a high degree of data integrity/accuracy
• Ability to thrive in an environment with limited direct daily supervision
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with various levels of management both internally and externally
• Capable of setting priorities and multi-tasking
