Eventide Jamestown Senior Living is currently seeking a Senior Living Director, LPN or RN to oversee the daily operations of the Senior Living and Assisted Living apartments. The position supervises the administrative and operational functions of the senior living apartments and ensures that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times to all residents. Assists in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating Senior Living services.

The ideal candidate will have an active LPN or RN license or have a healthcare admin degree and/or license.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Performs an initial assessment of potential residents to determine eligibility for an assisted living apartment in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Identifies any unsafe work practices or work areas within the buildings and promptly establishes corrective measures to ensure the safety of residents, staff and visitors.
  • Assists with planning and maintaining an operations budget.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork with residents and families for a move into an apartment.
  • Coordinates apartment rentals, check-ins, check-outs, rent collections and monthly rent adjustments. Maintains all pertinent records affecting the operation of the Senior Living apartments.
  • Develops and maintains positive resident/tenant relations and addresses concerns as they arise.
  • Attends tenant meetings (as needed) and handles necessary communication between tenants and Eventide.
  • Helps plan and implement marketing strategies to maintain budgeted occupancy levels.
  • Responsible for the overseeing of HUD regulations for The Living Center. (Moorhead Campus Only)
  • Prepares and maintains a work schedule for all Senior Living apartment direct reports.
  • Conducts job-specific orientation for new hires reporting to the Director of Senior Living.
  • Monitors staff time and overtime through the software program provided.
  • Develops and maintains positive employee relations within the Senior Living apartments. Counsels and disciplines employees as necessary and terminates with the approval of the Executive Director and the Human Resources department.
  • Maintains positive relations with other departments in an effort to conduct a smooth transfer process within the continuum.
  • Is “on call” after normal business hours and weekends, on a rotating basis with other designated staff, to handle staff and building problems or emergencies.
  • Builds professional relationships and serves as a representative for Eventide within the business community.
  • Works with leadership to plan and implement new opportunities for seniors.
  • Attends and participates in workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. to keep abreast of current changes in the senior living field.
  • Willing to fill in for support staff in all areas when necessary including nursing, housekeeping, administration, life enrichment, and dietary.
  • Makes an initial client assessment of potential residents to determine if appropriate for moving into our Assisted Living apartment buildings
  • Assesses needs and develops a plan of care with the resident and their physician. Develops a vulnerable adult care plan as appropriate for new residents. Obtains physician’s orders in a timely manner and according to policy, and reports significant changes to the physician.
  • Logs and tracks computerized physician orders to ensure their timely return. Receives and sends medical faxes between other health care providers.
  • Observes residents reactions to medications and procedures, monitors vital signs, detects deviations and measures resident progress.
  • Maintains accurate resident records reflecting the resident’s condition, nursing needs, observations, actions taken, treatment and progress in a timely manner and according to policy. Teaches and demonstrates nursing care to residents and Universal Workers (Home Health Aides - CNA). Instructs residents and Universal Workers (CNA’s) of the danger signs that indicate the need for an unscheduled visit for medical care.
  • Provides positive interaction with residents. Maintains an open line of communication with families and relays concerns and change of condition information in a timely manner.
  • Works as a team member with other departments to maintain smooth work flow and meet the expectations of our customers.
  • May have to adjust work hours to address issues of concern and/or monitor the care being provided.
