Role: Senior Manager, Manufacturing

Reports to: Head of Manufacturing

(This is an onsite position in Houston, Texas)

Primary Purpose of Position:

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Manufacturing, to build up manufacturing, setup manufacturing facilities, develop reagent manufacturing processes, work with R&D to transfer project into production, plan, and coordinate production activities.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up manufacturing facilities and processes
• Collaborate with R&D team for product development
• Lead manufacturing transfer and convert R&D formulations to sellable products
• Write SOPs and manufacturing reports
• Ensure that customer, statutory, standards, and internal requirements are met or exceeded
• Coordinate manufacturing with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and other departments, as well as with vendors and shippers
• Ensure schedule and budget are met
• Troubleshoot manufacturing anomalies and failures and implement corrective actions
• Hire, train, and evaluate manufacturing workers; monitor workers to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements

Qualifications and Required Skills

A bachelor's or master's degree in sciences, engineering or manufacturing or other relevant fields with over eight years of experience or PhD with 5 years in a manufacturing environment are required. Manufacturing experience in Biotechnology is preferred. Knowledge of qPCR and NGS is a plus.

Strong organizational and managerial skills are essential.

Certification: PMP-Project management experience is a must; candidates with project management certification will be given preference. Must be willing to attain PMP.

Must have experiences with product transfer and product development.

Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels, educational background, etc., are essential.

Physical and Other Requirements:

This position requires stooping, bending the body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist and reaching. The job may occasionally require exertion up to 10 pounds and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

Fine Motor Control: Pipetting with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Continuing Education: Continual assessment of current literature and best practices.
