Job Overview:

My Client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong networking and virtualization experience to join our Cloud & IP Engineering team.
In this critical role, you'll be providing the key function of building and administering of the solutions and infrastructure for our on-premises and cloud infrastructure, primarily based on VMware and AWS.
You will have overall responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to the day-to-day support of my Clients Calabasas, CA-based Data Center, and Test Lab.
Strong networking skills are a must; a coding background and meticulous attention to detail will help you succeed in this role.

Job Responsibilities:

• Network Engineering SME for the Cloud & IP DevOps team, including lead responsibilities for network design and troubleshooting for physical and virtual networks
• Maintain data centers and environmental facilities including but not limited to UPS, backup generator power, fire prevention systems, and HVAC
• Plan, install, and support the company's physical computer infrastructure (hardware, storage, networks, lab systems)
• Troubleshoot issues within the data center and physical infrastructure
• Aggressively leverage infrastructure-as-code principles to reduce manual configuration and rework wherever possible
• Manage and support change and release processes for physical environments
• Provide cost and design proposals and liaise with vendors
• Establish physical operational support procedures for all systems
• Maintain inventory and hardware lifecycles
• Create metrics and monitoring to aid in SLA reporting

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years of networking configuration and management
• Proficient in installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of networking gear including, but not limited to, Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper Switches and virtual chassis, and Cisco devices
• Experience with DNS, DHCP, SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, and DDoS mitigations
• Strong working experience implementing and maintaining complex routing with a full range of layer 1-7 technology and protocols
• Strong working experience managing and administering virtualized systems on VMware and Nimble stack
• Familiarity with Hybrid Cloud (VMware and AWS) interoperability
• Demonstrated ability to code at a proficient level in either Python or Golang
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration and Networking
