Position Purpose:

Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as Senior Product Manager - Technology, Supply Chain, Warehouse Management System (WMS) of the Supply Chain Tech Team and will build the next generation Supply Chain technology products and services at GPC. Working with a highly talented team, will play key role to build and run one of world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations.



Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Planning – Looks across product teams and feature sets with a focus on alignment and dependencies. Gains a thorough understanding of customer and employee needs, both existing and potential, and uses that knowledge to help deliver enterprise products that provide GPC customers and employees with an unparalleled experience. Seeks to empathize with and understand the end user deeply and use that knowledge to determine the fastest path to deliver value. Translates business goals and end user needs into product strategy; communicates direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners. Identifies goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually makes recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
  • Delivery and Execution – Reviews recommended solutions and work of product team to ensure products are aligned with company, stakeholder, and end user priorities. Removes roadblocks and obstacles that may impair product teams to help ensure delivery of the product to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals. Receives and prioritizes incoming requests from business partners and stakeholders while keeping in mind the business strategy, product vision and user needs. Provides regular updates to leadership regarding progress of products within the portfolio.
  • People – Provides leadership, mentoring and coaching to Product Managers. Attracts, retains, and develops top talent to build a world class Product Management Team. Conducts annual and mid-year reviews, reviewing individual development plans and providing performance feedback. Fosters collaboration with team members (Engineering, UX, etc.) to drive value and identify and resolve impediments. Acts as a proponent of modern software development practices. Advocates for the end user and stakeholder by becoming associated with the product, empathizing with, and understanding user needs. Works with the product team to continuously assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and understand next steps. Manages cross functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy and provides education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience. Guides more junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks. Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice). Participates in talent acquisition, development, and retention activities in support of team.



Location:

  • GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlanta office.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences:

  • 7+ years of professional experience as a Technical Product Manager/ Business Systems Analyst supporting enterprise Supply Chain/ Warehouse Management Systems
  • Proficiency in Supply Chain processes and technology, predominantly in Fulfillment (ex. Warehouse Management Systems, Labor Management Systems, Yard Management Systems)
  • Ability to build and optimize global product roadmaps based on business value
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a large, matrixed organization, successfully influencing others and establishing relationships
  • Proven track record of implementing W*S (WMS/WEC/WCS) solutions at scale, preferably in Retail/e-Commerce space
  • Experience with “Source to Target” mapping for integration work between WMS and complex enterprise retail/ supply chain applications
  • Good understanding of Retail, Distribution and Transportation domain
  • Proficiency in working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern software design and development team
  • Proficiency in creating, prioritizing, and accepting epics and user stories
  • Proficiency in conducting user research and testing to understand needs
  • Proficiency in identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value
  • Proficiency in active listening and communicating at all levels
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and/or Aha!



Standard Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must be legally allowed to work in the United States
  • 7+ year of experience as an Product Manager preferred.


Education Required

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job


Physical Requirements

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles
