About the Company

Well established, successful, and growing, privately held company is conducting a confidential search for a Senior Purchaser/Warehouse Manager in the Quad Cities Region.

This position is Full-Time, Exempt. It is not remote. There is no work-from-home option.

Qualifications

Candidates must have at least 5 years of proven experience as a manager in a high-functioning warehouse using an advanced WMS. Experience in HighJump/Korber is a PLUS.

This professional must be able to think critically and multitask while managing and overseeing the workflow and processes of buying, receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing within the warehouse as well as the people who work together to complete these tasks.

A manager who likes to be hands-on, is able to lead by example and effectively train employees, or train supervisors and leads to train employees, and set expectations.

Teaches the team to solve day-to-day operational issues and successfully reach short- and long-term performance goals

The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail oriented, able to analyze data and use reports to ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with B2B and B2C satisfaction being the primary goal.

Senior Purchaser/ Warehouse Manager Responsibilities:

  • Meet regularly with warehouse leads and supervisors to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for fill rates and productivity goals set in collaboration with executive management
  • Evaluates bids and maintains relationships with vendors
  • Awards contracts and purchase orders
  • Develops new standards for products and services
  • Supervise daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
  • Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the demands of the distribution center, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency
  • Available to work extended hours to train directly with all shifts and work hands on with employees and processes at all levels
  • Oversee picking, storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, administrative functions and distribution operations
  • Oversee and manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers and internal facilities
  • Ensure company equipment is well maintained, and safely used by staff
  • Maintain documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities

Core Skills

  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Valid drivers' license
  • Ability to operate forklift effectively
  • Ability to work with all levels of company staff
  • Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback
  • Able to implement operational policies and procedures as needed
