This group includes full-time staff, staff families, and interns. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but involves a somewhat remote style of living.
Job Description

  • Title: Senior Software Developer
  • Department: Shared Services
  • Reports To: Director of Technology Solutions

As the senior software developer on our Technology Solutions team, your purpose will be to fulfill our mission of inspiring Christ-like change by creating solutions that directly affect our employees, programs, guests, and ministry partners. You will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of high-quality custom applications that integrate seamlessly with the Salesforce platform. These solutions will contribute to the growth of our cloud-based SaaS Camp Management System, mobile applications, and system integrations. You will be involved throughout the entire software development life cycle, from requirement gathering, design, to solution deployment and support. This role requires creative thinking, collaboration, and a passion for delivering great solutions.
Overall Responsibility and Expectations

  • Work collaboratively with the Director and other team members on solution development of web applications, mobile applications, and integrations
  • Mentor other developers on design patterns, development best practices and performance trade-offs
  • Perform code reviews for accuracy and functionality
  • Analyze business requirements and provide solution design with estimated work effort
  • Design solutions with resilience, scalability, and performance in mind
  • Develop according to software development best practices
  • Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to process improvement
  • Test and deploy programs and applications in cloud environments
  • Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing software
  • Develop technical documentation to guide future software development projects

  • HTML/CSS
  • JavaScript (JQuery, JSON, Node.js)
  • Javascript frameworks (Angular, React, Svelte, etc)
  • Salesforce development (Standard and Lightning)
  • Java/APEX
  • Relational databases
  • REST APIs
  • DevOps & CI/CD (Using Azure and AWS)
  • Ability to work quickly and follow industry best practices
  • Desire to teach and mentor other developers
  • Excellent analytical/troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn, adapt, and grow with our team
  • Certified Salesforce Developer preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Ability to sit and focus on a singular task for several hours at a time

Work Context: This job can be performed remotely or on location in Glorieta, New Mexico.

Travel: Possible infrequent travel for training and development.

Work Environment: This position will be primarily office based, but may be called upon to assist with other duties as needs arise.

Training: All employees will be given the opportunity to improve their skills through appropriate training. This will include ongoing coaching and on the job training as a regular part of this position.

Compensation: Full-time salary, on-site housing including utilities, $0 deductible health and wellness plan, retirement benefits with matching funds, paid vacation time, flexible work schedule
