The Senior Specialist, Enterprise Data & Analytics will be responsible for meeting with users across the Enterprise to gather requirements, design and develop enterprise data structures and views, Dashboards, and reports to solve medium to complex problems. The candidate will leverage analytical design experience to develop solutions to meet business requirements across multiple domains. The specialist ensures data quality by working with users to understand data needs and develop analytical views to provide data accuracy to support enterprise analytics.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Work with the business clients to understand business and data requirements and define data sources, design data constructs and dashboards to support data analytics across various departments.
  • Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges by collaborating with business and IT.
  • Utilize highly skilled understanding of Power BI and/or Tableau Architecture required to provide and support Enterprise Data Analytics
  • Build data flows using Extract, Transform and Load Technologies like SQL Server Integration services & Denodo.
  • Build and prototype dashboards to provide insights into the operations of various business functions.
  • Develop rich interactive visualizations using Tableau integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources.
  • Build and reuse templates/components/web services across multiple data sources & dashboards.
  • Train power users on data sources, dashboard development best practices and developing self-reporting capabilities.
  • Improve and resolve performance challenges on large data constructs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge:

This position requires a deep understanding of Relational Databases, Data warehousing & Data visualization technologies and a broad understanding of the company’s organization, functions, roles and responsibilities. In-depth knowledge of office protocol, customer service philosophies, proper office etiquette and protocol is required.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to meet with end users and extract requirements and Design and Develop Tableau Dashboards.
  • Knowledge in Power BI or Tableau Administration is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to meet with users at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Experience working with Commodity Trading related data and domain.
  • Experience in using DevOps and Enterprise Github for version control and collaboration

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education, Training and Certifications : Bachelor’s degree in related field (Computer Science, Computer Technology, Computer Engineering) and/or equivalent years of experience.

Experience :

Minimum five (5) years of experience using SQL, stored procedures and functions utilized for data warehousing. Must have expert level knowledge in writing SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures and functions in Microsoft SQL Server. Must have experience using SQL Server Integration Services (Developing, Deploying, Scheduling, monitoring Packages) for performing Data transfers across different servers. Must have expert level of knowledge in Data Visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau

  • Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.
  • Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.
  • May be required to work overtime.
