Food Server/Customer Service

We are looking for team member with the ability to create a pleasing experience for customers while fulfilling drink and food orders. We are located inside the prestigious Duke University Brodhead Center. Must be able to work independently. Monday-Friday only. 9am-3pm

Job Responsibilities

• Greet customers by determining their food/beverage interests and needs.
• Explain menu options to customers and provide a unique and joyful dining experience. Training will be provided.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing and stocking as well as communicate vendor orders as needed.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities including Serv-Safe, PCI Compliance and various other Duke mandated certifications.
• Enhances reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

• Must be able to pass Duke University issued background check
• Prior café or server experience a plus
