GTG Peterbilt – Davenport is a premier provider of quality products and services to commercial equipment users. We carry a large selection of new and previously owned commercial trucks and offer a full suite of maintenance and repair services. We have a dedicated parts showroom with several million dollars of parts on hand. Our franchises include Peterbilt, Hino, Dependable Truck Parts (DTP) and TRP All Makes Parts. Being an integral part of the GTG Peterbilt, we are in the heart of the Midwest and one of their four locations. Our location is right on Interstate 80, the corridor that connects the oceans and splits the nation in half. GTG Peterbilt is constantly looking to expand and improve our footprint on the area.

We have immediate openings for a MOTIVATED Shop Assistant/Porter. This successful candidate’s primary responsibility will include making sure that the shop is kept clean and organized. We are looking for a dedicated employee that has strong work ethic, a desire to learn, quality customer service, and communication skills that help support our growing business.


Requirements:


  • Maintain trash, dumpsters, barrels, and shop appearance.
  • Maintain clean and orderly bay area at all times.
  • Maintain the proper function of all service tools and equipment.
  • Coordinating work with team members.
  • Noting any damages/and or repairs to management.
  • Cleaning bay areas with power washer.
  • Keep all shop tools and equipment organized.
  • Picking up and delivering parts in the local area.
  • Use proper eye, hand, and body protection when necessary.
  • All other job duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
  • 1+ year of related experience
  • Combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • Must be able to pass mandatory pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Additional Information
Steel toe shoes or boots needed.

  • Physical : Working in, under, and around trucks and trailers. Ability to lift, push or pull, objects of various shapes, sizes and weights. Safely walk, reach, bend, climb, push, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the essential job duties. Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Environmental : Primarily indoors with some outdoor work. High noise level. Uniforms, ear and eye protection provided.
  • Hours: First shift (7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.), occasional Saturday mornings, occasionally staying a little past 4:00 p.m.
