Position Overview:
This position plays a crucial role in the operational excellence strategy and is responsible for enterprise Business Technology (BT) configuration management services and capabilities. The incumbent ensures accuracy and completeness of data across the infrastructure, by working across different portfolios to ensure tools and processes are implemented to effectively capture and update configuration items (CI’s) and associated data. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring that critical applications and services are mapped before implementation, leveraging discovery and service mapping.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and maintains Configuration Management Database (CMDB) architectural standards in alignment with the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and provides prescriptive guidance across Compeer on service modeling within the CMDB in support of scalability, automation, and time to value of the Now Platform.
  • Administers integration/field mapping and reconciliation of data from ServiceNow discovery, Service Mapping, SCCM, SolarWinds discovery, and ad hoc loads in the configuration management module.
  • Maintains CMDB data by cleaning up applications or hardware which are not discoverable by automated tools.
  • Develops and maintains Compeer Financial’s configuration models for services, assets, applications and infrastructure to enable key processes such as; impact and cause of incident and problems, change planning, design, change risk and impact assessment, planning tech refreshes, software upgrades, optimize asset utilization by understanding which CI's make up a service and enables service health reporting via service mapping.
  • Participates in defining a road map to mature the CMDB/Asset management processes.
  • Establishes and builds relationships with other Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) process owners, applicable tool owners and stakeholders to understand business objectives, data structure, and how CMDB and Asset Management processes will best support the enterprise and process specific objectives.
  • Facilitates communication and engages business and BT management to support CM efforts and value proposition.

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree in computer science, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with ITIL V3/V4 Foundation leveraging ITSM and ITOM best practices supported by a Configuration Management System, preferred.
  • ServiceNow Admin Certification, ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist, or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, Preferred.
  • Experience with the ServiceNow application and specifically the modules relating to Discovery, management of Configuration items, and Change Management.
  • Working knowledge of configurations such as Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Access Controls, Notifications, Flow Designers and Workflows, Integration Hub as it relates to ServiceNow. Detailed understanding of, and experience with, ITIL processes.
  • Proven ability to provide thought leadership and design data structures across multiple environments and a system of management controls to maintain correctness, completeness and compliance.
  • Experience delivering measurable outcomes, performance consistency and reporting results to key process partners and stakeholders.
  • Effective organizational, time management and planning skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and help desk tracking software.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of internal clients.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to translate technical information into non-technical terms.
  • Valid driver’s license.
