Your Role & Key Responsibilities
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager is responsible for managing all compliance and improvement activities in SHE & Security to achieve a proactive SHE culture. Responsible for ensuring compliance, implementation of any Elida Beauty global initiatives and strategies. Coordinating/conducting SHE audits both internal and external. You will support the SHE Director, NA Managing Director and SHEQ team in the deployment of Global SHE to achieve sustainable SHE excellence.
Responsible for implementing proactive and reactive security control measures that support our business needs. Assess levels of risks and opportunities ensuring suitable measures and support needed in line with any security plans. Ensure security awareness programmes are in place, properly trained and alignment with our business partners.
Protecting people and assets, conducting investigations, intelligence issues and program management. The responsibility encompasses all aspects of the company’s business including third-party entities.
Leading by example, supporting and coaching our colleagues & business partners. Promote a pragmatic proactive approach to SHE and security which will protect our people, assets and brands, reduce incidents, injuries, illnesses, environmental impact and create efficiency with our works.
Responsibilities
Risk profile – Change management (separation from Unilever), contractor management including third party manufactures and distribution hubs, office working and events and travel.
  • Responsible for the deployment of the global SHE strategy, policies and standards
  • Monitor legal compliance and ensure they meet all local/national regulatory requirements in all our facilities
  • Influence senior management and drive safety and environmental leadership through line management.
  • Before separation support and comply with our parent company Unilever framework standards.
  • Provide advice to the NA management team on national SHE legislation requirements and support with any measures that need implementation
  • Manage and maintain any global/regional Management System and ensure its implementation is effective and in compliance with Global Directives and legal requirements (i.e. ISO 45001 & 14001 standards).
  • Facilitate in and ensure the completion of safety and environment risk assessments
  • Develop an understanding of the regional culture in order to implement Behavioural Safety Program, supporting deployment across the region.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Occupational Health personnel to identify and mitigate risks which may lead to occupational ill health
  • Assist in the development of regional crisis and safety committees.
  • Supporting site department leaders in any major incidents advising line management with their incident investigations.
  • Assist the Global SHE Director in ensuring compliance with SHE training and event management (risk assessment and event notification)
  • Conduct internal and external trend analysis from both leading and lagging indicators, advising management accordingly
  • Develop and deploy internal SHE audits and inspection systems, conduct audits on our external partners
  • Determine training needs and facilitate in delivery of SHE training programs to build capabilities.
  • Raise standards and build capabilities with our external partners for SHE (e.g. distributors, 3PMs, and 3PLs).
  • Participate in the Community of SHE professionals to ensure sharing of best practice, bench marking and advising of effective measures.
  • Reduce the regional environmental impact in the areas hazardous & non-hazardous waste, CO2 emissions and water & energy consumption
  • Liaise and communicate with any regulatory bodies regarding any permits or business duties
  • Implement inspection and maintenance of our facilities to maintain compliance and a good working environment (Including the management of any facility management contractors)
SECURITY
Elida Beauty Security Officer, responsible for providing leadership and developing a coordinated security approach across the applicable operational security risk:
Risk Profile – Active shooter, terrorism, protestors, disgruntle employees, employee travel, cyber and theft.
  • Trusted advisor to the country leadership and the point of contact for all security related matters.
  • High level of awareness on security matters and an understanding of different levels of risk and threat.
  • Ensure existing controls are adequate, effective and aligned to achieve management objectives. If not then implement an improvement plan.
  • Analyse existing and emerging threats to people, assets, information and brand. Design security architecture to combat these threats in accordance with the legal, moral and financial contractual and business requirements.
  • Liaise with external intelligence, law enforcement, specialist physical security third party companies, special interest groups and professional bodies to assist with effective implementation of physical security solutions
University degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent. (Proven experience will also be considered)
Registered health and safety qualification
Influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity.
Good observation and auditing skills with a pragmatic approach
At least 5 to 7 years’ experience in a Safety, Health & Environmental roles
Experience in a leadership capacity and proven track record in a dynamic and environment.
Solid incident/accident and risk/hazard identification and investigation experience.
Track record of analytical thinking and project management
Security management
Knowledge of office facilities management
PREFERRED:
Advanced degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
Environmental management qualification
Experiences and/or qualification in Corporate Security Management
Experience within supply chain operations and manufacturing
Appropriate functional/technical expertise
Proven successful behaviour safety campaign
  • Monitor current threat levels and any suspicious activity that may put our staff and business at risk. (staff travel around the world)
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with other functions having impact on security like HR (background verification, starter and leaver process)
  • Preparing security reports including country security incident reporting, intelligence briefing, threats assessments and investigative reports
  • Contributing to the global response to crises and other significant events.
  • Initiating counter terrorism/extremism measures including the production of a structure countermeasures that can be implemented and scaled up or down according to the risk.
  • Ensure security training and awareness sessions for security staff, vendors / third parties and employees.
  • Represent Elida Beauty at industry forums and participate as a member of industry organisations. Provide and share information related to industry benchmarking and activities with global leadership.

Work Level 2A: Pay: The pay range for this position is $96,000 to $143,900. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
