Welcome to Wayland Brewing Company, the newest addition to the Grange Community Kitchen Restaurant Group. Located in Orchard Park, NY the brewery will be offering a broad range of thoughtful beers, along with an extensive menu that prioritizes local and seasonal ingredients. With a greenhouse inspired taproom, event hall, full sized bocce ball courts, and a 200 person patio; Wayland is the place where all points converge for people to gather.

We’re currently seeking a driven, experienced, and career oriented Shift Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate would consider themselves a quick learner with strong interpersonal skills. Must enjoy a high energy & fast-paced environment, able to work non-standard hours (i.e night hours, weekends & holidays), and have a team player mentality.

Shift Lead Job Responsibilities

The Shift Lead will be responsible for overseeing the flow of service when no other manager is present. This will include completing several managerial tasks prior to the beginning, and after service, to ensure the restaurant is operating efficiently. This person will always be scheduled for a specific role (i.e. serving or bartending) with at least two manage/serve days per week. This person will be actively involved with service standards, guest experience and communicating any and all issues to the General Manager, Director of Operations, and Owners.

Shift Lead Requirements For Success:

• Availability to work mornings, nights and weekends
• Ability to perform opening and closing managerial tasks including tip distribution, deposits, and general restaurant cleanliness on managing days
• Effectively lead team members to ensure systems are running efficiently
• Ensure policy and procedures are adhered to everyday which are outlined in the Wayland Brewing Employee Manual
• Observe the flow of guests and be physically present on the floor
• Provide daily walkthroughs to inspect the restaurant as well as upkeep of all building maintenance and cleanliness. This can be done by completing the opening and closings checklists
• Oversee and provide exemplary guest interaction, including but not limited to ensuring repeat guests and taking care of any guest concerns or complaints quickly and professionally
• Flexibility to fill in different roles (i.e. serving, bartending)

Knowledge & Experience

• 2+ years of serving experience in similar environment
• Beer knowledge
• Willing to train the right candidate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
