Position Summary: Shipping and Receiving Clerk/Forklift Operator

  • Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.
  • Assist Lube Operations with managing daily schedules supporting delivery activities and product distribution.
  • Provides administrative support to Operations Manager and Warehouse Team to include verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments, return product from lube routes, updating WMS/Netsuite inventory, monitoring bulk inventory levels (tank monitors) at customer locations, efficient truck dispatch operations, assisting will-call customers, maintenance scheduling, and monitoring DOT Compliance criteria.
  • Assists warehouse operations in maintaining accurate warehouse inventory via adjustments generated due to shipment and receiving events.
  • Assist warehouse operations to ensure inbound and outbound products are properly received, inventoried, labeled, warehoused, and shipped in accordance with (IAW) company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives Sales Orders from CSR and facilitates pick sheet distribution to warehouse team
  • Provides dispatching direction to lube transfer and route drivers ensuring operations are supported in compliance with safety and customer service expectations
  • Manage routing and inventory and other software applications to ensure proper routing.
  • Manage inventory levels (ITank/ Smart Tank) at customer locations.
  • Manage proper levels of repackaged products from tank farm to warehouse inventory.
  • Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective as a company.
  • Communicate with Management on issues related to the safe and efficient operation of vehicles, facilities, and customer locations.
  • Monitor driver daily logs for errors or violations and monitor drivers' working hours and truck availability.
  • Maintain healthy working relationships with Sales and Customer Services Team Members to ensure customers receive the level of support necessary to meet Company standards.
  • Ensure all sales orders are fulfilled, pushed out or closed as appropriate by end of each day.
  • Responsible for ensuring loads are processed into and out of the warehouse (making sure items match the paperwork)
  • Assist with month end cycle counts and yearly inventory.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Determines method of shipment to ensure competitive rates and on–time secure delivery of product.
  • Compares identifying information of incoming & outgoing shipments to verify information against invoices, orders, or other records to ensure accuracy of shipment.
  • Receives incoming shipments and places in inventory. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with purchasing to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Assist warehouse team, operates forklift to move, convey, or hoist product from shipping and receiving platform to storage or delivery freight.
  • Monitors inventory for support products necessary to properly fulfil warehouse / production operations and coordinates with purchasing when additional procurement is necessary for sustained production operations.
  • Ensure product is properly labeled and affixed to totes, drums, pails, etc.
  • Ensure that the physical condition of the warehouse and adjacent work areas are conducive to a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Operates forklift and other material handling equipment to move, convey, or hoist product from shipping and receiving platform to storage or delivery freight.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Desired Education and Experience:

Minimum Experience:1+ years’ experience in a Transportation and/or Operations environment preferred.

Education: High School diploma /GED equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications and CORE Competencies:

  • Strong Excel, Word, Outlook, and related computer software skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, set goals, and accomplish responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels within the organization both in person and in writing.
  • Valid Drivers License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
