Division Description:
The Baird Display Division creates unique and high-impact temporary and semi-permanent point of purchase displays, merchandisers, and signage that converts interest into action and helps brands stand out from the crowd.
Position Overview:
Shipping and Receiving Clerks are ultimately in charge of inventory at a business, warehouse, or office. They keep track of shipment schedules for both incoming and outgoing shipments. They track inventory counts and check the items in inventory for damages or discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
  • Properly accounting for the location of incoming goods.
  • Assuring no damaged items are sent or received.
  • Comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list.
  • Updating the product inventory as products are received and added to the inventory.
  • Packaging products for return to vendors and filling out any paperwork necessary.
  • Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them, and distributing packages and letters within the company.
  • Schedule shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments.
  • Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers.
  • Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.
  • Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, and operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.
Qualifications:
Language Skills
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licneses, Registrations

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
