Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing packages and labels for shipment. Follows established procedures and practices for utilizing transportation, routes, and rates. Prepares and maintains records in connection with goods shipped. Prepares bills of lading, weighs containers, and records charges. Contacts carriers for pickup and traces lost shipments. Receives incoming shipments of a wide variety of parts and materials. Signs receipts, checks and notes damages or shortages. Opens containers, unpacks items, checks paperwork and delivers to appropriate areas. Maintains receipt logs. Operates hand trucks or motorized forklift trucks as required. Assists in unloading carriers and participate in storage of material. Expected to initiate and support improvements to warehouse organization and shipping/receiving processes.

Primary Functions:

· Packages, weighs, and labels items for shipments.

· Prepares and maintains bills of lading, and records shipping charges.

· Contact carriers for pickup.

· Performs traces on shipments, as required.

· Receives incoming shipments, sign receipts, and maintains receiving logs.

· Unpacks items, as required, and notes shortages or damages.

· Delivers items to appropriate areas, as required, either by hand or by use of hand truck or fork lift truck.

· Flexibility of working overtime hours is necessary.

· Performs necessary functions to adhere to ISO/IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.

Secondary Functions:

· May assist in unloading carriers and with the storage of materials.

· May be required to assist/support/train other personnel.

· May perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Educational and Work Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Forklift experience needed.

· Associates Degree preferred.

· Working experience in SAP required.

· Experience using an RF Scanner desired.

Specialized Skills/Knowledge:

· Knowledge of shipping procedures.

· Knowledge of transportation practices preferred.

Specialized Training:

Position is a “Safety-Sensitive Job”. Incumbent will be required to have a minimum of 2 weeks of supervised training due to fork truck use. An additional 1 week minimized supervised training may be needed if incumbent is required to handle chemicals.

Hand truck, forklift truck, scales, computer terminal

Personal Protective Equipment:

Safety glasses, steel-toe safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection (as required).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
