Lead, manage and direct employees and activities within the department. Will assist in training of temporary/new employees.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Associates degree or equivalent job-related experience. Minimum 1 year experience in an administrative role and minimum of 10 years experience in shipping/receiving domestic and international products
Language Skills:
Communicate verbally and/or in writing with other employees, customers, other departments and supervision as to work in progress, problems and/or completion. Must be able to present information to groups of employees, customers, vendors, etc.
Mathematical Skills:
Be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide basic numbers. Calculate percentages and perform advanced mathematical procedures.
Reasoning Ability:
Be able to identify work process problems and possible solutions.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Maintain local, regional and/or national memberships in appropriate professional organizations/associations.
Physical Demands:
Stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete floor. Will be required to kneel, squat, stoop, recline, climb, crawl, and/or bend on an as needed basis. Must be able to adjust visual focus. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, over 50 lbs with assistance of a lifting device.
Some travel may be required.
Work Environment: Traditional office atmosphere, and shop atmosphere. Will need to go into shop environment on an as needed basis.
Additional Information:
Must have basic knowledge of computers and/or PCs and associated software applications. Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Oversees but when called upon .Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance: determines most economical and efficient shipping methods: selects appropriate shipping containers: packs items to ensure safe delivery
- Oversees but when called upon Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct
- Responsible for international and domestic products for shipment, generate packing lists, select carriers, prepare and maintain export compliance records as required
- Ensure all shipments are in regulatory compliance
- Process international material shippers for shipment and closed all material shipped daily
- Ship all machines within budget, and ensure a timely delivery to customers.
- Stay current on international exporting changes such as new commodity codes and customs regulations.
- Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers
- Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
- Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items
- Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents
- Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records
- Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, safety environmental, and/or control standards.
- Work closely with the Project Engineers, Sales, Manufacturing, Customers, Supervisors, and lead person to schedule shipments.
- Leads, guides, and trains employees performing related tasks
- Participate in on call night or weekend calls for emergency shipments when necessary
- Other functions as directed.
