JOB SUMMARY

Enters and clears all vessels and processes crew changes. Reviews incoming and outgoing manifests for accuracy and processes tonnage and wharfage for VIPA. Notifies all governmental agencies of vessel arrivals and departures. Prepares and submits reporting as required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares and codes VI Port Authority Tonnage & Wharfage weekly self-billing invoice.
  • Processes vessel entrance and clearance, vessel crew, and cargo clearance.
  • Uses cargo manifests to calculate daily tonnage and wharfage for cargo shipped and VIPA invoicing.
  • Verifies and reconciles VI Port Authority Pilotage and Dockage on monthly basis with VIPA Accounting Personnel.
  • Prepares Pilotage and Dockage spreadsheet with coding for Accounts Payable upload.
  • Prepares Form A for each vessel call and submits to Accounting.
  • Notifies CBP and VIPA of vessel arrivals and departures overtime schedules for vessels.
  • Prepares monthly voyage count.
  • Prints vessel loads and manifests for each vessel operation.
  • Transports crew member for embarkation or disembarkation travel and medical visits.
  • Delivers weekly checks for paternity and child support, withholding taxes, and wharfage and tonnage fees.
  • Performs all other duties as required

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

One year experience in vessel, immigration, USDA, and customs procedures.

LICENSE:

Valid Local Driver's license.

PHYSICAL:

Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer. Ability to sit 1/3 - 2/3 of day. Ability to work on feet for 1/3 - 2/3 of day. Mobility required to perform agent duties. Ability to bend or stoop to retrieve lower shelf files or reach overhead to retrieve upper shelf files. Ability to frequently twist, bend, squat, kneel and climb heights up to 15 feet at steep angles, climb and balance on ship gangways, occasionally must lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Able to withstand occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Pay: $18.70 - $24.81 per hour
