Objective:
- To participate in planning and execution of a wide variety of tasks related to vessel preservation
- Primary focus of work is Ship and Boat Carpentry related to maintenance, preservation and restoration
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and restoration tasks related to watercraft preservation
- Willingness to perform research necessary to support specific work assignments
- Work under the instruction of lead shipwrights
- Perform work in support of other areas of Museum
- Represent Mystic Seaport Museum in a professional manner at all times
Note:
Because of the broad interests of the Watercraft Preservation and Programs Area and the variety of work expected by the Museum from this area, much work outside the parameters of this job description is to be expected. Within limits set by their supervisor, all Shipyard employees are encouraged to become involved in aspects of Watercraft Preservation and Programs Area which are not normally within the scope of their job description.
