Knoxville Botanical Gardens and Arboretum is hiring Site Coordinators for the Spring, Summer, and Fall Seasons.

Hiring and Training for this position will begin after an interview process is completed and work will begin in late March/early April 2023.

This is a part time position needed for events at KBGA that occur after regular business hours and on weekends.

Applicants MUST be available to work nights and weekends.

Position is great for Graduate Students and retired persons.

Position does require some moderate walking on uneven ground and moderate distances outdoors, up and down stairs and moderate lifting.

Primary Duties include but are not limited to the following:

-Arrive before event and read through details of the event

-Unlock Venue and be onsite to meet renters when they arrive

-Place signage for parking/event and occasionally direct attendees to venue space or parking

-General Problem-Solving Skills

-Check-in with renter throughout the entirety of event

-Check Event space after the event for damage and ensure all equipment is returned to appropriate locations

-Complete associated forms

-Lock-up all event spaces used during the event

-Maintain communication with Event Manager throughout the duration of the event, if necessary

Knoxville Botanical Gardens and Arboretum is located in a peaceful oasis of 47 acres just outside of downtown Knoxville in the historic East Knoxville Neighborhood. It sits only minutes from Alex Haley Park, the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, Beck Cultural Exchange and Center, University of Tennessee, Neyland Stadium, Thompson Boiling Arena, and the Knoxville Zoo.

KBGA was begun in 2001 as a dream of Jenny Howell Jukes to preserve the grounds of the nationally recognized Howell Nurseries. The Visitor Center (the former home of Jenny and her family) has been recognized as a National Register of Historic Places and is a member of the American Public Gardens Association, Botanic Gardens Conservation, and the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.
