Job Summary:

This role will function as the site Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for a facilities operations and maintenance services contract that oversees critical operations at Marine Corps Base Quantico. Develops, implements and maintains company policies adhering to installation, local, state and Federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating health, safety, and environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Manage and oversee a spill response team and fulfill the duties of HAZWOPER Technician. Serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies, and installation safety, health, and environmental staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA degree in occupational health, industrial safety, environmental science, Engineering or similar technical degree with three years directly applicable experience, OR Five years directly applicable experience in lieu of degree

  • HAZWOPER Certification (minimum 24 hour) or the ability to obtain upon hiring.

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Clearance

  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach for extended periods of time.

  • Must have current OSHA 30 cert.


Desired Qualifications:

Please note: Prefer Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or able to have completed all professional requirements to be eligible to sit for the exam within 90 days of employment. Company will pay the cost of all required certifications.

  • Experience with EM 385-1-1 and other DOD safety, health, and environmental regulations

  • Experience with ISO 14001 compliance

  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction course or equivalent

  • Experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)
