In this job, you will provide the necessary supports to individuals living with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities to allow them full access to work and be part of their community.

As part of a small team, you will engage individuals, families, community, and employers to allow those we support to build relationships and/or obtain/retain employment.

Individual Employment Services includes supporting individuals to determine goals that are a good match, developing employment opportunities and support them once employed.

This will include engagement with the individual, family, guardian and employer You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with community employers with the goal of placing clients.

The goal of our Community Inclusion services are to guide and support individuals to build meaningful relationships in their community doing activities that interest them.

You will provide overall case management including development of annual plans / goals, and daily case notes regarding activities.

Key activities will be assessing skills / interests, developing goals and opportunities that match those interests, and supporting individuals to maintain jobs / community engagement.

Qualifications:

• Ability to pass background check including the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) background through Background Check Central Unit (BCCU)
• Must have valid driver's license and personally insured vehicle
• Ability to pass Orion's driving abstract requirement to allow for transportation of clients
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Possess or acquire a first aid/CPR certification when course is offered by Orion
• Adhere to Orion's cell phone reimbursement policy, which requires a smart phone
• Experience / Education: Experience working with individuals with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities preferred but not required. Certification such as CESP or College Degree desired but experience in lieu of education accepted.
• Outgoing and confident in approaching business on behalf of people with disabilities
• Willing to maintain flexible work schedule
• Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and their impact on functioning and employment preferred
• Excellent customer service skills - ability to relate and communicate well with all stakeholders
• Excellent ability to communicate in English - both verbally and in writing
• Ability to analyze, coordinate and synthesize information and reach sound conclusions
• Strong computer literacy - able to use Word, Excel, and the internet
• Present a positive, professional image in demeanor and dress
• Ability to apply positive support principles and strategies
