The Solution Architect provides technical leadership for the Software Engineering team members and business partners in the areas of solution architecture, design, development, testing, integration, delivery and sustainment. Serving as a technical liaison in collaboration with the software engineering team, you will communicate and understand the line of business needs and expectations from requirements to the final solution. Customer satisfaction is the central focus of the Software Engineering team and the Solution Architect ensures that prescribed criteria is met throughout the solution delivery process. This role will also provide oversight and recommendations of consultancy services to best leverage the organization’s resources to deliver the most business value in a timely manner.

Your day might include:
  • Examining work coming in to the roadmap view and aligning from a strategic direction.
  • Creating tools that enable teams to work faster
  • Conceptually stitching together disparate systems
  • Creating thorough, consistent, and effective standards & guidelines
  • Designing, documenting, and rapidly prototyping highly complex systems
  • Applying appropriate design patterns and refactoring
  • Creating easily readable and maintainable code using secure coding practices
  • Providing supervision and guidance to development team and recommend enhancements
  • Collaborating with the Domain Architects to ensure all solutions adhere to the broader architectural concerns for the enterprise
  • Ensuring secure coding practices
  • Providing oversight and recommendations of consultancy services to best leverage the organization’s resources to deliver the most business value in a timely manner.
What you bring to the team:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or closely related field with a concentration in computer programming. Related experience may be substituted, year for year, for academic achievement.
  • Minimum Seven (7) years’ experience, including automated testing, building, and deployment
  • Understanding of architectural patterns (SOA, WOA, ESB, IoC, DI, Micro Services, etc.)
  • Demonstrated accomplishments creating innovative technology solutions
  • Understanding of common development platforms
  • Thorough understanding of the SDLC
  • Proficiency with various source control systems
  • Proficiency with build and deployment tools
  • Solid understanding of testing frameworks
  • Understanding of development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.), and when to use them
  • Ability to convey highly-technical information to non-technical staff
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Convey highly technical information to non-technical staff, and interpret complex business requirements from lines of business
Bonus points if you have:
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Experience with Symitar, Forgerock, and/or Backbase
Competitive pay: $111,817.37 - $167,726.05, annually, dependent on applicable qualifications plus an annual discretionary incentive plan
Where we’re located: Corporate Office 330 Union Ave SE Olympia, WA. Employee must reside and perform all work in the state of Washington. This is a work from home/hybrid position with the exception of occasional on-site training, meetings, and specific organization events.
When you’d work: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, plus on call hours and scheduling flexibility required to meet service needs for this full time Exempt position.
