The position

The UNO Portal team is an important part of this, developing a new and innovative digital hub that connects customers with the information that they need to effectively manage renewable energy assets.

The Software Engineer position is a key role within the UNO Portal team. You will be designing, implementing, and supporting the product as we push it forward.

Responsibilities include:

• Working as a member of a collaborative cross-functional Agile team
• Software development across the full stack, web, backend, test, including cloud infrastructure
• Developing reliable, scalable, secure, maintainable products using industry best practice
• Steering the technical direction of products
• 3rd Line Support of your software
• Supporting continuous improvement of team tools and practices
• Upholding RES’ values (Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, Excellence)

About You

You are passionate about the work you do and enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full stack. You want to work on a high impact product and care about user experience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are always looking for opportunities to learn and develop.

In terms of technical skills, you likely have experience with the following:

• API design and development
• Web front-end development
• Cloud native design
• Test driven development

In the UNO Portal team, you can expect to work with a range of technologies including Python on the server side and React /TypeScript on the client side. We use Microsoft Azure and have a CI/CD pipeline based on GitHub, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes. We think that keeping up to date with the latest technologies is important and are always looking for opportunities to level up our stack.

Recruiting Process

The recruitment process firstly involves an informal chat by phone with the hiring manager, followed by a brief online test to be completed in your own time. Applicants who are successful will then progress to a final interview conducted over Microsoft Teams.
