Job Summary:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Solution Advisor providing Cerner expertise, support, and knowledge transfer sessions to the National/VISN Councils/local workshops, and VA solution advisors. Support Solution Advisors in the translation of functional requirements. Facilitate ticket management activities. Collaborate with Solution Management Administrator to facilitate design reviews and provide guidance and recommendations for solution optimization. Support the Office of Functional Champion Testing Team (OFCt) with testing activities. Facilitate best review of Oracle best practice recommendations for workflow and configuration.

Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience is required. An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements
  • Can work independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software for a healthcare/clinical environment
  • 3 years’ experience with Cerner Revenue Cycle configuration and workflows, specifically in Registration/Scheduling and/or Charge Services
  • Analysis and development of Current/Future State workflows required
  • Experience managing functional validation and end user testing for Cerner (or other EHR) and integrated third party solutions
  • Experience with the Revenue Cycle configuration: Charge Viewer, Bill Item attributes, Pricing Tool, Registration Conversations, Appointment slots
  • Able to identify and mitigate risks
  • Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
  • Experience supporting the identification of root causes, courses of action, and potential solutions to support any major incident or response efforts
  • Experience leveraging ServiceNow’s out-of-the-box features to customize reports and solutions for clients. Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups to evaluate and escalate tickets
  • Strong leadership, written/oral communications, analysis, data gathering and organization skills
  • Experience facilitating reviews, evaluating scenarios for stakeholder impact, and collaborating with Solution Advisors to provide recommendations for optimization and effective change
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, computer science, electronics engineering, engineering, or technical related field


Additional qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Preferred Millennium experience on code levels 2018 or higher
  • Preferred understanding of Cerner Model recommendations
