SUMMARY: Responsible for the support of compliance to the state legislative implementation and reporting of the Colorado READ Act. Including managing READ Act databases, designing data collection processes, cleaning data, creating reports, and pulling data for specialized requests. Will provide support in communication to schools for compliance reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Analyze and develop database programs to report various READ data for state, district and school needs. Information includes READ budget information, school literacy resource inventories, assessment participation progress, and READ plan monitoring.

Manage various reporting for CDE READ submissions. Collect, compile, verify, communicate, and submit various READ data in accordance with State and District requirements.

Develop, maintain and provide data analysis and reports for schools and the District in accordance with District, State, and Federal regulations/law.

Proof and verify data to maintain strict data integrity. Provide application testing and data validation for READ initiatives as well as IT upgrades.

Provide customer support for READ data and reporting tools.

Manage daily office procedures, including answering telephone inquiries and communicating with school staff and other departments.

Support time and labor reporting as well as hiring processes in the district HR system.

Order and maintain materials, supplies and books for specific needs of staff and instructional programs.

Coordinate and prepare materials for READ presentations. May include collating, editing, organizing and producing varied,
and complex products, including graphics and slide presentations using keyboarding and/or printing.

Maintain the READ website. Maintain assigned work order tickets by providing notes, information to customers, and closing resolved tickets in a timely manner.

Support fellow departmental employees through technical training and process automation when determined necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma/GED required, Associates or Bachelor degree preferred, or postsecondary course work through a recognized vocational or community college in the areas of secretarial, business, bookkeeping, accounting, office management, computers and spreadsheet software programs.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years' in business management, spreadsheet applications (Excel), database applications (Access), or database development and management. PeopleSoft experience a plus.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EQUIPMENT: Position requires excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, basic math, and analytical skills. Requires advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word and Excel and Google Suite.) Infinite Campus and Access experience preferred. Experience with statistical software and SQL Reporting Services a plus. Ability to problem solve, use good judgment and diplomacy and to work effectively under pressure with a high level of confidentiality and flexibility.

SUPERVISION-TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position will serve as a technical resource regarding statistical data as it relates to a specific area.

CONTACTS: Position requires daily contact with persons within/outside department/building to negotiate controversial and/or confidential matters. Occasional contact with parents, vendors/suppliers, and the Colorado Department of Education to negotiate controversial and/or confidential matters, and with students and the general public to negotiate controversial and/or confidential matters.

SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS: High exposure to self to repetitive motion injuries due to keyboarding and low exposure to self to cuts and bruises due to typical office accidents.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to analyze and synthesize. The employee is frequently required to compare, communicate, compute, evaluate, use interpersonal skills and compile. The employee is occasionally required to copy.

JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING: Work is assigned by department leadership and READ teams. Typical decisions include the review and corrections to ensure the integrity of data. Decisions also involve how to fulfill custom data requests from department databases. Decision-making is guided by District Policies and department procedures. Decision making may require collaboration with supervisor, instructional departments, and Colorado Department of Education. Errors in decision making could lead to the communication of inaccurate data or reports, resulting in loss of confidence in the department, unit, school or embarrassment to the District and loss of District/school accreditation status. Supervisor is occasionally involved in decision making.

DIVERSITY OF DUTIES: Position interacts with multiple stakeholders across the District regarding pertinent information relating to READ Act implementation. Position requires tact and diplomacy to maintain relationships, resolve problems and negotiate matters involving high confidentiality in a timely manner. Technical skills will require cross training with other central departments.
