Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Clinical Leader to join the team. The Speech Language Pathologist Clinical Leader provides quality, comprehensive, patient-centered speech therapy services including patient examination (ages 13+), development and administration of a treatment plan, documentation and communication with team members, and clinical direction and supervision to licensed/non-licensed personnel. Instructs therapy support staff, students, other team members, and patient and/or caregivers. In addition to clinical responsibilities, serves as a mentor, program leader heavily involved in program development, and knowledge translator. Therapy Clinical Leaders work solely in specialized care areas that include Spinal Cord Injury , Complex Care, Brain Injury, and Stroke.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in outpatient therapy preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience with a specialty population of interest

Education/Certifications:

  • Master’s Degree from an ASHA-accredited program in Speech and Language Pathology required.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) - SLP required.
  • Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a SLP required.
  • Healthcare Professionals CPR required.
