The responsibility of a Speech Language Pathologist includes, but is not limited to:

• Collaborate with team members in developing, implementing, and coordinating rehabilitation policies and procedures, pre-admission screening, resident care plans, MDS information, resident assessments, etc.

• Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessments, etc., as necessary.

• Responsible for speech-language/swallow evaluations, treatments, and other related activities at the facility.

• Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.

• Responsible for submitting all clinical and billing documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred.

• Be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.

• Be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 40 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.
