Position Profile:

The Senior Analyst of Global Medical Affairs, Independent Medical Education (IME) Grants will be an integral member of the IME grants team which processes medical education grant requests from external parties. As part of the team the Senior Analyst reviews grant applications for completeness, issues payments, tracks program dates and outcomes, communicates with internal and external teams and reviews grant reconciliations.

Essential Functions


  • Monitor the Educational Grant Management System and perform initial review of grant requests to ensure completeness
  • Determine if request is in line with established review criteria and eligible to be routed to the appropriate review committee
  • Process approved grant requests to include communication of grant approvals to internal and external parties and issuing of payment to requestors
  • Track routed requests against the budget to ensure approvals do not exceed budget forecast
  • Maintain a schedule of supported educational events across all therapeutic areas
  • Track and request outcomes from supported programs
  • Schedule monthly EGRC meetings, develop agenda, distribute review materials to the team prior to the meeting and prepare presentation materials
  • Communicate regularly with grant requestors regarding grant status, payment, program materials and outcomes of supported events in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Document communications and information regarding grant requests through uploading of information or entering comments in the educational grant management system
  • Issue reports for the IME grant program with manager oversight and communicate results to stake holders within the organization as requested
  • Prepare presentations for use by management and other internal departments as needed
  • Respond to reported problems and work with a diverse team of internal and external stakeholders to identify resolutions
  • Review and track grant reconciliations
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to the grant workflow
  • Update documentation related to IME grant processes and workflow diagrams to ensure business continuity and aid in continuous improvement efforts
  • Participate in professional meetings and industry alliances to evaluate the impact that regulatory and policy decisions have on IME grants

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • At least 1 to 2 years Pharmaceutical industry and/or medical education company/agency experience
  • Expert MS Office skills with a special focus on spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, word processing, tables, and templates
  • Strong analytic and critical reasoning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a health-related field (e.g., public health, nursing, biology, other science or health related curriculum)
  • Understanding of medical, compliance, FDA and regulatory guidelines (e.g PhRMA guidelines, OIG, AMA, ACCME, EACME, Sunshine Act, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience with educational grant management systems (e.g Polaris, Visiontracker) is preferred

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $92,000-$120,750. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
