The Senior Innovation Engagement Specialist supports our Purpose by c reating content to communicate modernization efforts to the operation. This role focuses on diffusing the mindset of innovation in an engaging manner. The Senior Innovation Engagement Specialist is a creative storyteller and strong communicator who looks forward to driving the future of Southwest Airlines.
Additional Details:
U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.
This role is offered as a regional workplace position and Employees must work in the region they support. This could require working from a mix of on-site Company facilities and remote based offices to perform the job function in a regional location determined by business need. Each Department will provide Employees with guidance on when and where presence is required with as much notice as reasonably possible.
Please note, while this is a regional position, there is limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work off-site. Those ineligible locations are: Alaska, Delaware, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company .

Job Summary
The Sr Innovation Engagement Specialist is experienced in human-centered design and brings a diverse toolkit of skills to design and execute communications in a highly collaborative environment to keep stakeholders informed and engaged in the innovation process. This individual will work with multi-disciplinary teams and use insights to craft clear and compelling stories of innovation.
Responsibilities
Designs and plans communications to support Innovation efforts
Works proactively with departments impacted by Innovation to understand communication needs and disseminates information in a timely manner
Serves as a liaison with our internal Partners to stay informed of complementary efforts to ensure communications are thorough dependencies are understood
Executes content development through a variety for formats including memos, presentations, stories, videos, exhibits
Monitors and measures impact of communications to continually refine and optimize
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Human Centered Design
Intermediate knowledge of communication best practices
Knowledge of a wide range of content creation approaches
Skilled in designing communication plans and evaluating their impact
Skilled in writing, filming, editing, photography, and the Adobe Creative Suite
Skilled in communication and storytelling
Ability to communicate effectively by listening intently, questioning appropriately, and articulating clearly in both written and verbal formats
Ability to create compelling content that meets audience needs
Ability to develop trusted relationships across a large organization
Ability to handle high volumes of work with ability to prioritize effectively and hit promised timelines Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
Communication
Design
Business Strategy
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
