Originals: In 2022, we are launching a diverse slate of non-fiction and scripted originals, including the first ever audio-only singing competition in partnership with Audible and grammy-award winning duo The Chainsmokers. What We Are Looking For

The Senior Producer will have the unique opportunity to work on an audio docu-follow series alongside a renowned journalist and team of seasoned audio professionals. You’ll work closely with the Host/Executive Producer and story editors to craft compelling storylines from initial interviews through episode scripting and assemblies.

The ideal candidate has an interest in reality programming, documentary and narrative, non-fiction storytelling. They’re excited by innovative audio formats, the creative problem-solving that may come with it, and excel in team and talent management. This position requires professional docu-follow experience in audio or television.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Produce episodes from initial idea to final draft, building episode scripts and audio sessions, while maintaining season arc and consistency across the series alongside story editors

• Ensure seamless communication between internal and external production partners including contractors, AWM staff, and network executives throughout all stages of production

• Collaborate with Host/Executive Producer to plan recording schedule including interviews, field shoots and more; ensure appropriate recording set-up for quality tapings

• Manage assets and paperwork related to production, including scripts, timelines, and agreements

• Prep podcast Host for recording sessions as needed

• Lead recording sessions with a deep understanding of remote and field audio technology and software

• Support on-site producers in capturing “day in the life” audio with main characters

• Coordinate with story editors and post-production teams to log tape and organize assets, as well as build assemblies and versions of episodes

• Manage rounds of edits and consolidate editorial and production feedback throughout all cycles of review

• Ensure all deadlines are met with enough time for internal and external reviews, and ensure successful show launch

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years experience working in documentary production or relevant media with specific emphasis on docu-follow

• Ability to edit audio, assemble drafts and entire episodes in digital audio workstation and manage script edits through cycles of revision

• Proficient in professional editing software, whether audio or video (Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere); familiarity with Descript is a plus, but not required

• Working knowledge of podcast and recording best practices, including appropriate software and gear, as well as how to “tech check” and quality control during tapings and post-production

• Exceptional ear for audio storytelling

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail; confident creating and maintaining workflow through folder structures, documents, spreadsheets, etc.

• Collaborates well with producers, talent, crew, and talent representatives at all levels, even while under pressure

• Excellent verbal and written communicator in a remote work environment

• Working knowledge of G-Suite, Slack, and Airtable

Reports To: Sr. Supervising Producer of Originals

Works With: Host/Executive Producer, Story Editors, Senior Development Manager and others

Job Type: Starting ASAP; Temporary (6 months)

Pay Range: $2,000/week
