Position description
This individual serves as a Sr. Revenue Cycle Financial Analyst supporting various segments of the Mayo Clinic Revenue Cycle operations and analytical teams. The successful candidate will have high expertise in preparing financially and operationally-oriented assessment, analytics, what-ifs, business cases and management reporting for use in both tactical and strategic decision making. Proactively identifies opportunities and recommends options for increasing financial margins, improving revenue cycle key performance indicators and efficiency opportunities. Additionally the candidate will be called upon to prepare and develop executive/management consulting quality decks, narratives and materials. Assures the integrity of financial and statistical data through rigorous Q/A of source data feeds , reports, schedules, worksheets, reconciliations or other tools. Provides leadership in a team environment supporting complex, ambiguous and highly visible multidisciplinary activities or projects. Actively communicates and presents information to various audiences. Uses reporting tools to develop unique management financial information with significant institutional impact. Is recognized and relied upon as a subject matter expert who can recognize problems, formulate solutions and recommend and where appropriate implement change recommendations. Develops, implements, and maintains programs and tools for analytics/reporting for complex activities spanning the areas of support. while preserving Mayo standards and minimizing the financial and legal risks to Mayo. Develops variable-sensitive business models and/or compliance or fiscal management tools. Provides expert analytical, financial, operating, and compliance support to department and institutional leadership. Mentors, coaches, and trains staff. Spearheads change and actively participates in decision-making. Leads and facilitates workgroups or complex projects when called upon.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
If degree is in Accounting or Finance, minimum of 8 years applicable experience in accounting or finance is required.

Other business related bachelor's degrees require a minimum of 12 years of applicable accounting or finance experience.


Additional qualifications
A master degree in a business related field or, a CPA (active or inactive), CMA or CIA is preferred.

Has an expert understanding of accounting and finance practices. Has advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Expert investigational skills, shows attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Solid customer-service skills; anticipates, understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner. Advanced knowledge of large accounting and/or grant management systems. Ability to work and lead in a team environment and develop constructive working relationships with others. Demonstrable communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and lead complex projects and activities. Possess initiative, analytical skills, and an ability to operate with a high level of productivity.
