POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing accounts receivable, assisting in closing the General Ledger each period and year end, reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, completing journal entries, completing sales audit process and assisting finance management as needed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Process customer credit applications and enter approved limits into client profile.
  • Process customer invoices as needed.
  • Post customer payments, including cash, check and EFT payments into AR system.
  • Maintain AR aging schedule and associated account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate contact with customers to attempt to collect past due account balances as shown on the AR aging.
  • Investigate discrepancies in sales between Wild Adventures’ sales records and customer records.
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts each period and verify the reconciliation ties back to the general ledger.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of productivity, meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Prepare any adjusting entries to the general ledger as needed.
  • Audit various inventory balances throughout the year to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Classify, record and summarize numerical and financial data
  • Debit, credit and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
  • Check figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
  • Compare computer printouts to manually maintained journals to determine if they match.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
  • Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and other duties as assigned by the Senior Finance Manager/Director and/or GM.
  • Comply with safety and security directives, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all matters relating to the company
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Must be willing to work outside his or her zone of assignment to fulfill general park needs on occasion
  • Ensure compliance with all Herschend Family Entertainment and Wild Adventures policies and procedures
  • Represents the company to guests and other team members in a positive and friendly manner
  • Satisfies Wild Adventure’s standards for performance and conduct. For example, reports to work regularly and on time
  • “Create Memories Worth Repeating” for our Guests by exceeding guest expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (four year college or university)

Experience : One to two years related experience preferred

Computer Skills

Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.

PCI annual training is required along with background and credit check and drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
