The Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee invites applications for the position of a TN licensed Registered Nurse in the Student Health Center. The position is a full-time position, scheduled for 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday.

The mission of the Student Health Center is to provide a comprehensive, moderate-complexity program of primary health care services relevant to the needs of eligible University of Tennessee students. These services include personal health care, health promotion, education, consultation, and educational experiences for selected students pursuing careers in health professions.

The Position: The Student Health Center seeks a full-time TN Licensed Registered Nurse. The duties include provision of customer service, perform telephone and/or walk-in assessment for individuals seeking care, provide nursing skills to the ability of their licensure and at the direction of an advanced licensed medical professional, maintain confidentiality of medical information. The position also provides supervision of three medical records staff members, promotion of healthy living skills, and ensure accurate documentation of services provided in the form of an electronic medical records system. The successful candidate must be willing to work with a diverse patient population and provide services for all eligible students seeking treatment.

What We Require:

Education:

  • Must hold a license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in college health, a physician’s office, or hospital setting.
  • Must have word processing and computer skills
  • Must complete CPR certification

Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to speak a foreign language is a plus.
  • Past experience with electronic medical records system, such as Medicat.
