The CAS Enablement Products InteliSight Hardware Engineering Team is seeking a Senior Technician to support current and future products in the organization. In this role, Sr. Technician will work with integrated product teams to develop new, advanced Connected Aviation products while supporting existing products in production. This position contributes to the development of concepts and techniques on new products and line extensions and requires a high degree of initiative. This level requires experience with several product developments. To develop to this level, a technician must develop a strong technical understanding and consistently demonstrate a quick learning curve for new complex designs and technologies. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter capable of driving tasks and medium size projects to completion on time and on budget.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development of new product lines in consultation with the product design engineers.

  • Perform complex design tasks and analysis to draw conclusions and present results.

  • Consistently demonstrate ability to adapt quickly to new designs and concepts.

  • Evaluates and applies standard techniques and company test procedures.

  • Perform hardware verification, validation and reliability testing of design specifications by defining and executing verification procedures and test plans.

  • Read circuit schematics and troubleshoot and fix PCAs, including soldering of precision components.

  • Record test results, numerical and graphical data, and make recommendations for changes to product or test methods.

  • Generate documentation, including drawings, ECOs, materials specifications, manufacturing procedures, BOM's, and inspection procedures.

  • Track and communicate project status, help develop schedules and specifications.

  • Identify and work with vendors on engineering and production components.

  • Interact effectively with cross functional groups and mentor’s new technicians or interns.

  • Completes other assignments and special projects as requested.

  • Support bids and proposals for new Enablement Products developments

  • Support complex, multi-discipline integrated project teams

  • Creates engineering documentation for existing and new products

  • Manage labs, order supplies, build fixtures and interface cables, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair skills using electronic test equipment.

  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics and work on prototypes.

  • Experience with Soldering skills

  • Experience with electronic test equipment ie. Oscilloscope, DVM, and other test equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-year Electronic Technology AAS degree

  • 2 years as an Engineering or Production Technician

  • Supporting development of complex products

  • Supporting development and /or manufacturing of complex products.

  • Troubleshooting skills with the ability to repair complex circuits.

  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office products.

  • Consistently demonstrated quick adaptability to new designs and concepts.

  • Analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and research skills.
