Stainless Buffer/Polisher Job at KCS International/Cruisers Yachts
We currently have an opening for someone who has previous metal shop experience for buffing and polishing stainless steel.
Qualifications:
Must have experience in stainless polishing, buffing and metal working.
Able to polish out weld marks and bring rough stock stainless to a #8 high finish.
Experience in metal shop atmosphere, able to use hand air buffers, drill press, grinders.
Needs to be self motivated and able to work with little direction but meet all deadline and schedules.
Position summary: Buff and shine welds to a polish finish on stainless steel parts
Principal Duties
1. Prepare work area by gathering hoses, tools, supplies on work table
2. Gather railings and small parts from racking that is set up by welder, and place railings/ small parts on work table. Racking is 13 in, 33 in, 53 in, 63 in, and 73 inches off the ground. Work table is at height of 39 in. Racking is 15 feet from work table
3. At work table, buffs surface of railings and small parts. May have to go to pedestal buffer to work at height of 40 in; pedestal grinder at 38 in high, vice table height at 43 in. This requires frequent moving around parts to complete task.
4. Wrap railings and parts with paper and tape, mark with tape and right information of part on tape.
5. Place items on shelving that is 15 feet from table. Shelving from 13 in off floor to 6 ft tall. Attach appropriate paperwork to items that are completed on shelving.
6. Perform sand blasting in machine that has hand holes at 40 in high and screen to look through at 56 in high. Performs approx. 1 time per month.
After work day complete, clean up area, roll up hoses and place on wall hooks at 43 in off floor, sweeping performed in area as needed and after week complete
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
