LGC Biosearch Technologies locations in Petaluma and Novato, CA, as well as our sister site in Denmark, represent a focused, collaborative culture of producing mission-critical genomics components, primarily oligonucleotides and supporting reagents, for our diverse customer base. We are looking for a driven and strategically minded sales professional to join its U.S. sales team. The Strategic Account Manager’s core goals are, within the designated region, to identify, develop and grow sales revenues at Key accounts in the Healthcare, Medical Diagnostics and other applied markets. This includes key account management and development of new supply/OEM agreements. The position will lead initiatives which are consistent with the company’s Strategic Business Plan. The job will require a strong understanding of customer’s organizational structures and development processes and the broader Genomics market. The individual will also need to understand technology & IP landscape to ensure commercial agreements are formulated to maximize commercial gain. This role will require networking at various levels within targeted client organizations from C-level executives to lab scientists and support personnel, and will include facilitation of ideation and vision sessions, proposal development, negotiation, and contracting within corporate guidelines to achieve results.
The position is remote (home-based) within the West Coast region, ideally in Southern California, and requires up to 60% travel (less once you ramp up) to customer sites within the geographic territory.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:

  • Achieve sales & profitability in line with the AOP for strategic accounts, primarily comprised of multi-national molecular diagnostic companies focused on but not exclusively the Healthcare market
  • Manage and achieve new sales results as assigned by leading a strategic sales process; accountability includes revenue and unit goals.
  • The account manager will be expected to manage a solution-oriented sales process that will involve various resources and projects during the sales cycle. Responsibilities also include formulation of commercial agreements and ensuring approvals are in line with company policy, licensing and legal requirements.
  • Forecast with key clients to ensure consistent supply chain and feedback into production for planning purposes
  • Facilitate quarterly business reviews with strategic customers to present and review current business and clearly understand direction and key projects within customers, enabling growth within current customer base and forward capacity planning
  • Work with global clients to develop initiatives to integrate LGC Biosearch chemistries into their commercial products
  • Present capabilities to potential 3rd-party B2B partners both directly and in collaboration with the broader LGC Commercial team in line with the new account acquisition strategy
  • Provide input to strategic planning & New Product Development reviews
  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing leadership to ensure technical resources are focused on developments to support B2B initiatives
  • Identify B2B opportunities across the company that can be leveraged to contribute to company growth
  • Respond with flexibility and collaboration to the needs of the business – both internally and externally – by addressing important corporate initiatives when requested by management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in the biological or life sciences; advanced degree in relevant field a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of enzymes, oligos, beads in PCR and NGS-related workflows.
  • Proven knowledge of NGS, including key components utilized in the workflow
  • Prior experience evaluating and implementing transactions within the genomics sector.
  • 5 or more years of high-level commercial experience and a proven performance track record.
  • Excellent communication skills – strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with CRM software (SalesForce.com). SalesForce.com is an essential tool for pipeline and account management for LGC Genomics.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical understanding regional regulatory requirements, such as CE-IVD, 510k, PMA and ASRs

The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: $120K Yearly with generous Commission
Maximum: $ 150K Yearly with generous Commission

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for the California -based position. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as: experience, skills, and location.
