Job Title: Student Accounts Assistant Collection Manager

Summary:
This position will be in direct support of the Student Accounts Collection Manager with oversight of all campus location student collections which includes Active and Inactive Collections.

The duties include:
  • Direct oversight for Corporate Collection Specialists, which includes assisting with training and development in areas that will strengthen collections for both active and inactive students
  • Maintain the culture of the Corporate Collections team being an extension of the campus-based team to help students become fiscally responsible related to their payment plans
  • Establish new systems and/or procedures as necessary to improve collections, meet regulatory requirements, and provide excellent customer service
  • Assist with the development and training of all relevant staff on the use of dashboard reports to monitor collection activities and proper documentation in Campus Nexus to improve collections.
  • Provide and maintain all required reports relating to the escalation of active students not responding to outreach
  • Working with active and/or inactive students that have payment plans or past due balances to maximize cash collection while providing high levels of customer service and empathy to our student’s financial situations.
  • Participate in weekly team training and planning teambuilding activities.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned based on the overall needs of the Student Accounts/Collection functions.

Qualifications:
  • Collections experience highly desired
  • 1.5- 2 years’ experience in financial aid or related industry
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Work, Outlook, data entry, and reporting.
  • Ability to work assigned/flexible hours necessary to complete the job every week.
  • Ability to calculate complex figures and amounts using algorithms and other mathematical and statistical formulas to identify trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and follow-up skills
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to multitask and work remotely with students and colleagues.
  • Act in a manner consistent with the highest ethical standards.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies about the provision of collections

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a combination of education and experience
