Spur, a digital staffing agency, is looking for a hard-working and punctual Substitute Secretary for Russellville City Schools.

The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the school and Spur. The primary responsibilities of this position are clerical support through knowledge of office practices and procedures. Candidates are expected to always represent the school and program positively and professionally. Candidates must wear business casual clothing.

Duties expected of this position are:

• Performing secretarial duties.

• Taking and transcribing dictation.

• Composing correspondence from notes and oral instructions.

• Operating office machines, computer terminals, and word processing equipment.

• Typing letters, requisitions, surveys, resolutions, board materials, and various legal documents.

• Answering inquiries involving the use of initiative and independent judgment within limits of established policies and procedures.

• Answering the telephone.

• Arranging appointments.

• Establishing and maintaining files.

• Compiling and preparing materials as assigned.

• Maintaining strict confidentiality concerning student records.

• Performing other duties as assigned requirements.

• Able to work on an on-call basis

• Friendly and approachable attitude.

• Prior related experience working with children.

• Punctual and professional - Maintains a professional appearance.

• Able to lift heavy objects up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.15)
• Must be able to complete MCS Training (Training offered at no cost by Spur Training Manager)
• Required Online Training

Compensation

• This position pays $80.00 per day
• Must be available to work 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday when school is in session. (Hours vary per location)
