Job Description - Nord Anglia International School New York(NAISNY)

To provide high quality teaching, learning and pastoral experiences for Primary children

Reporting to

Head of School

Other key relationships

Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Marketing, Admissions and Communication Team (MAC), NAISNY Teaching Team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. The pastoral care, safety, behaviour and safeguarding of a class of Early Years Children

2. Ensure that the children in your class feel happy, safe and secureand support those children who aren’t

Provide excellent learning opportunities and robust responsive teaching which promotes progress

Plan and deliver teaching and learning activities in line with the school’s curriculum and to maximise student engagement and learning.

5. Ensure productive parent relationships through excellentface to face communications, email, ClassDojo and academic reports.

6. Work with, direct and support Learning Assistants to improvechildren’s learning opportunities

7. Take an active role in your own Professional Learning andDevelopment through involvement in Teacher Learning Communities, Staff Meetings, external PLD opportunities and Nord Anglia University

To participate in the schools Quality Assurance process at regular intervals throughout the academic year

Implement school policies relevant to pastoral care,behaviour, teaching & Learning and safeguarding within yourclass

10. To arrange and promote trips, visitors, activities and events foryour class

11. To liaise with admissions to transition new children into yourclass

12. To teach a set timetabled number of periods per week as directedby the Senior Leadership Team

Any other tasks as directed by the Principal and/or the school’sleadership team

Performance Measures:

  • Regular reviews are undertaken of progress in achieving the success indicators of the School Development Plan
  • Evidence of achievement of success indicators is effective
  • PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS – Skills Knowledge and Experience
  • A degree from an institution of higher learning
  • A recognized teaching qualification
  • At least three years Teaching Experience
  • Experience of teaching English National Curriculum
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear track record of high-quality pastoral care
  • High expectations of children’s behavior, social development, and academic outcomes
  • Experience of fostering strong home-school links
  • Ability to demonstrate integrating technology into the classroom experience to enhance and extend the learning of students
  • Experience of successfully teaching students using technology in a virtual/hybrid environment

  • Experience of using Read Write Inc. Phonics
  • Experience of using White Rose Mathematics
  • Experience of teaching IPC
  • Desirable

  • Hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure or equivalent for countries lived in outside of the UK.
  • Compliance with visa requirements for working in the USA
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils. And the willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training when required
