SUBSURFACE UTILITY LOCATOR (SUE) TECHNICIAN:

We are seeking qualified, professional candidates in the subsurface utility engineering field. Moderate to high experience levels are needed IMMEDIATELY.

The Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Lead Locator is responsible for all aspects of electronically, and physically locating underground utilities.

The responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Required skills and duties:

· High school education or equivalent is required.

· Provide accurate measurements for utilities in project limits.

· Use designating equipment such as (RD, Metro-Tech, GPR)

· Provide accurate field drawings and sketches.

· Mark with paint and flags the horizontal position of the designated utilities.

· Record depth of utility line from surface

· Work with a team of talented individuals to help tackle a wide variety of projects.

· Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings and highway design plans.

· Setup appropriate maintenance of traffic.

· Coordinate survey work in relation with SUE.

· Obtain a clear understanding of ASCE 38-02 standards and Quality Levels and their applications.

· Minimum 5-year experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies.

· Must be able to quickly grasp new technologies.

· Should have basic computer skills and be able to learn and understand new software.

· Need to have a high level of reading comprehension and communication skills.

· Need to have good driving skills and a clean driving record.

· Light mechanical skills are a plus.

· Must prioritize the safety of yourself and others.

· Must possess effective written and oral communication skills.

· Demonstrates ability to identify sources of measurement errors.

· Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements.

· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

· Capable of operating as a one or two-man crew.

· Strong work ethic and team-player attitude.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Fieldwork involves working outdoors in all types of weather, walking long distances, and standing for extended periods while measurements are taken. While performing these duties, an employee is frequently required to sit; talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Availability

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30a.m. to 3:30p.m., overtime and weekends as required.

Travel

As a part of performing this position’s duties, travel will be required to respective job sites in Central Florida and within the state of Florida.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
