The Superintendent directs and manages all on-site crew members, subcontractors and equipment vendors, attends to customer’s needs, upholds company policies, procedures and safety standards, while meeting project deadlines.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees & inspects work in progress to ensure that work is being performed safely, workmanship conforms to specifications, and progress is in adherence to the project schedule.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Director of Operations regarding all critical aspects of the project such as material & equipment needs, personnel status, challenges, client needs, and any other items that could impact the ability of CCS Group to perform and meet or exceed it’s customer’s expectations.
  • Demonstrates ability to read and understand engineered project drawings.
  • Accountable for all quality control on the jobsite.
  • Stays current on all training to be able to effectively train employees on care of equipment, proper tool names and use, storage, and maintenance. Trains all crew members on each phase of the project so all employees are continuously learning and developing.
  • Continuously trains and gives Foreman responsibility to oversee and run project when Superintendent is not onsite.
  • Must be able to travel regularly for work.
  • Inventories and stocks their trailer prior to mobilization and between jobs.
  • Carefully review load list and ensure all tools, parts, accessories are stocked in trailer or truck before departing to jobsite.
  • Understands ICRI guidelines for the repair of damaged concrete surfaces and performs repairs accordingly.
  • Notify appropriate executive team member regarding necessary orders for materials, tools, parts, accessories, safety equipment and any other essentials to perform their work.
  • Inspects all Hilo equipment for safe and proper functionality.
  • Coordinate with all material and equipment vendors to schedule deliveries, remove rental items from rent, set up batch plant deliveries, notify executive team as the need to order special equipment or material arises.
  • Identifies and understands new scope opportunities and options while on site, reporting back to executive team.
  • Understands and follows project schedules, finds opportunities to better the schedule, and demonstrate ability to make up lost time. Ensure daily production goals are in line with project master schedule and communicate any deviations to executive team.
  • Understand the physical and fundamental details of building a liner, hopper, roof coating, carbon fiber, etc. Maintain a “continuous learning” attitude as new means and methods, technologies, advancements, equipment and processes are introduced.
  • Be able to work hands-on with crews at times as project needs dictate, and be able to physically demonstrate and train on all scopes of work.
  • Utilizes Slack and email to effectively communicate with other team members and customers as needed. Utilizes Raken to thoroughly document daily job progress, photos, activities, details and forecast next day production goals.
  • Responsible for coaching and disciplining personnel, and handling crew conflicts.
  • Responsible for timely submission of daily time sheets and PPE daily reports.
  • Follows established Purchase Order policy, requests Purchase Orders, makes work site related purchases and submits receipts on time.
  • Maintain and understand Department of Transportation driver compliance (i.e. log books).
  • Responsible for keeping assigned company vehicles clean and in good working order. Communicate all maintenance needs with the Shop/Equipment Manager and coordinate necessary work to be completed.
  • Conducts and documents Daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) meetings and weekly safety meetings as directed.
  • Establishes and maintains communication with all site customer representatives and consultants/engineers during site visits.
  • Tracks and communicates project equipment needs and issues with executive team.
  • Perform final inspection of work upon project completion and obtain final sign-off from Client to serve as final acceptance of the work.
  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and repair specialized shotcrete equipment.
  • Attends Putzmeister Wet and Dry Concrete pump training, Suspended Scaffolding Competent Person training, Hi-Lo Mechanical and Operational training and obtains OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour certificates.
  • Completes and maintains ASA/ACI Certification.
  • Attends or is available for Superintendent calls as needed and updates team on issues and solutions.
  • Responsible for maintaining hotel reservations for entire project team including cancelling and adding necessary rooms throughout the project as needed. Perform hotel room inspections for direct reports on a rotating basis and turn in findings to HR Director.
  • Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 2 to 8 employees in the crew. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
