This position manages the activities of the Timberline Supply Chain and ensures material availability requirements are achieved in alignment with overall business goals. Will pursue initiatives to optimize material flow, develop team members, and increase customer focus and satisfaction in support of a continuous improvement culture based on operational excellence. This position will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain Logistics and IT.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Leadership to the Supply Chain Team
  • Understand pricing and market conditions for key products/commodities to develop sourcing strategies
  • Analyze material usage to determine trends, identify contract opportunities and to maximize cost savings
  • Evaluate and implement best practices to mitigate lost production time due to material availability
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with suppliers to meet cost, quality and delivery targets
  • Streamline processes to reduce lead time, labor and freight with the goal of reducing inventory and costs
  • Develop and Implement Plan for Every Part Strategies
  • Communicate material availability issues to impacted departments and aid in resolution
  • Participate in the NPD process to assist in quoting and onboarding of new products
  • Collaborate with relevant departments including Sales, Scheduling, Customer Support, Engineering, Production, and Finance
  • Create cost reduction strategies within the Supply Chain to optimize material and logistics cost
  • Manage and monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Identifies and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments


Requirements:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or other related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management and or Materials Management required. Preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Three years of experience or more as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.
  • Excellent sourcing and negotiating skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to train as well as lead
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Proven success in improving processes and leading change
  • Exhibits positive behaviors with a customer appreciation mentality
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of ERP systems and Microsoft Office
