• Obtaining mandatory authorizations all scheduled in/out-pat surgical procedures
• Appropriately code the surgical procedure to prep for authorization process
• Provide clinical information if requested to insurance carriers
• Contact the scheduled patients and obtain insurance information and verify contact information of necessary
• Inform patients if MIU participates in their insurance and explain benefits and potential out of pocket costs to patients when warranted
• Responsible to verify insurances on patients from any emails sent from offices with add-on patients that day or insurance changes
• Obtain referral information from the patient, provider or Insurance company before the patients scheduled procedure
• Document accurately in Allscripts (PM) and Urochart (EHR) regarding information and/or authorization number on insurance for surgical procedures
