Job Summary:


Support the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (FEHRM) office in meeting the requirements of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The NDAA requires that the FEHRM convene an Annual Summit for end users to assess the clinical state of the HER and undertake both a clinician and patient satisfaction survey to assess the end user’ satisfaction with the federal EHR.

The candidate will be responsible for gathering, synthesizing, and implementing for action lessons learned and feedback from various end user groups ensuring the voice of the customer is heard and reflected in the configuration of the federal EHR. The candidate will be responsible for creating and/or applying existing survey tools to undertake a clinician and patient satisfaction survey regarding clinical use and patient experience with the electronic health record systems of the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Examine current survey tools and methods to determine relevance to existing tasking. Provide recommendations on efficient and effective survey data collection methodologies and analyze survey data to pinpoint key findings and trends, communicate these to stakeholders via dashboards and other visualization tools for implementation.

The ideal candidate will also leverage existing data from the surveys as well as data from other avenues (i.e helpdesk or JSaAB tickets) to engage end users through workshops and interactive sessions for feedback during an Annual Summit meeting. Feedback from the Annual Summit will also be analyzed and synthesized for implementable action with summary findings and recommendation compiled into an annual report to Congress.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional work experience
  • Prior experience designing, developing and/or administering surveys
  • Knowledge of statistics; ability to determine appropriate sample sizing
  • Prior experience in facilitating engagement with audiences for the purpose of gathering feedback for action
  • Able to assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients
  • Able to characterize and evaluate clinical processes, and the use of technology to enable these processes and workflows
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare or related scientific, technical, or clinical discipline, or an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements
