SURVEY CAD TECHNICIAN - Subsurface Utility Engineering

General Summary

This is a full-time position performing Survey CAD Technician duties. The ideal candidate would have extensive experience with Platting, Boundary Analysis, ALTA/ACSM Surveys, Topographic Surveys, ROW Surveys, and Legal Descriptions. Also, must be proficient with AutoCAD at a minimum. Individuals will carry out assignments for the RPLS and Survey Project Managers with minimal supervision.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

· Responsible for the design of CADD plan layouts and drafting requirements of any project assigned.

· Responsible for the record keeping and documentation of project requirements

· Responsible for plotting and checking drawings

· Make required modifications to drawings

· Responsible for batching sets of drawings and associated documentation

· Assisting in establishing CADD standards and utilizing these standards to minimize hours required to complete a task

· Maintain appropriate file saving techniques to ensure the ability to reuse files as required

· Will perform other duties as may be assigned by the Department Manager

· Receive, review and return internal documents as requested on a timely basis, obtaining required authorizations to record billable hours and/or expenses for work performed.

QUALIFICATIONS | SKILLS

Education, Licenses and Certifications

· Associates degree in drafting & design preferred but not required.

· Survey experience (Preferred)

· CST Certification (Preferred)

Knowledge and Experience

· 3-5 years of Land Survey experience (Preferred)

· Exposure to, or entry level proficiency in specialty areas such as; CADD, Cadastral, Platting or other areas. (Preferred)

· Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D

Competencies and Personal Attributes

· Must possess effective written and oral communication skills.

· Fluent Spanish is a plus

· Able to attend meetings outside of the office.

· Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements.

· Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Project, etc.)

· Strong work ethic and team-player attitude.

· Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to maintain composure under pressure, interact routinely with others face-to-face, by telephone, and through other communication methods using active listening skills and excellent teamwork.

· Ability to work with others in a group or team, and the ability to remain flexible despite interruptions and/or routine changes to priorities and/or job duties.

Physical Demands

A CAD Technician must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail. The CAD Technician’s work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.

Availability

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m., overtime and weekends as required.
